Right down on the sands of popular Mullins Beach, this Bajan beauty is just a few feet from the sea. A traditional beach house with two glorious sun decks, this place has been designed to focus on the view. Step out of your cool, comfortable living room and enjoy your breakfast on the covered dining terrace, with the waves lapping at the shore just beneath. There's no pool here, but that's because you really couldn't get any closer to the water – head off for daily swims in the clear blue of the Caribbean and dry off in the sun on one of your loungers. The interior is modern and minimal, with a weathered, vintage look to the 'pickled' wood ceilings. There's a contemporary kitchen for you to rustle up snacks and drinks but thanks to your housekeeper/cook you won't have to worry too much about cooking – you'll have two delicious meals per day provided. The second bedroom is full of island charm, with beamed ceilings, shutters and French doors opening to the lower deck, while the stunning master bedroom upstairs has vaulted ceilings, a superb en-suite and its own private elevated sun deck with panoramic sea views. It's easy to forget you’re on an island known for its activity and nightlife with all this natural beauty on your doorstep, but there are all sorts of water sports to get involved with from the beach, and you can walk to a number of beach bars and restaurants.

Captain's Deck

Turquoise-aqua waters and powdery white sand beaches — it must be the Caribbean. A stone's throw from the ocean — quite literally in this case — this beach house on the west coast of Barbados makes for an idyllic and easy-going seafront stay. It's quite easy to imagine soaking up the sun on your own beachfront deck and gazing into endless ocean vistas while sipping piña coladas on the loungers. Inside, the pickled-wood ceilings and whitewashed walls create a refreshing space to unwind with a chilled drink, but with an abundance of outdoor space — whether you're waking up to iced coffees on the master bedroom balcony or sliding open the French doors to eat breakfast beside the sea — this home is really geared towards relaxing with the salty breeze on your face and nothing but the gentle sound of the ocean in the background. You'll feel perfectly secluded here, but in case you ever crave a bit of action, Mullins Beach can be reached in a matter of moments, as well as a decent choice of restaurants and bars with views of the Caribbean Sea.

Life In The Slow Lane

Steeped in 1950s charm, this coral stone mansion was once the home of a United States Ambassador. Now – seventy years later – it’s ready to take you on the holiday of a lifetime, boasting a wealth of high-end amenities that’ll make your stay in Barbados one to remember. 

Step into the main house, where you’ll be greeted by an elegant living space complete with 14 feet ceilings and mosaic floors reminiscent of a classical Italian villa.  This is the perfect place to be if you want to escape the heat, but if you’d rather be out and about, there’s 1.5 acres of lush gardens outside just waiting to be explored. Take a running jump into the beautiful, tiled pool or make a beeline for the private beach and while away the afternoon on the golden shore, cocktail in hand. 

When it’s time to eat, gather everyone around the patio table for a candlelit dinner prepared by your private chef followed by a glass or two of freshly made rum punch. We could easily spend all night out here, but if you’re ready to retire, there’s a king-size bed with your name on it. Change into your comfiest pyjamas, then snuggle under the covers and drift off to sleep. After a day like this, we wouldn’t blame you if you never wanted to leave.

The Ambassador's Garden

If you’d like to spend your morning watching the sun rise over the Caribbean sea while you cool off in your private plunge pool, you’ve found the right place. This gorgeous penthouse apartment sits just seconds from Mullins beach, as well as plenty of fantastic restaurants and welcoming bars along the beachfront. It's based on a brilliant complex with a shared outdoor swimming pool that you’ll have access to during your stay.

Inside the home, you’ll find stylish and serene interiors that set the scene for a restful stay. You can tuck into delicious Caribbean cuisine around your alfresco dining set, or enjoy a refreshing dip in your plunge pool. The large lounge area also makes for a great place for drinks in the evenings before you head out to explore the nightlife of Mullins and beyond.

Roasted Pineapple

On the spectacular Platinum Coast, surrounded by fine ivory sand and the warm Caribbean Sea, this picture-perfect villa is a private oasis in the heart of Barbados. Boasting a private pool complete with a waterfall, you can relax in the cooling waters for a truly tranquil start to the day. 

The beach is just on the other side of a gate, placing you mere moments from the beautiful shoreline. Spend some time sunbathing or trying out some watersports on the calm blue waters. While Holetown has plenty of fabulous restaurants to choose from, we highly recommend a more intimate affair at home, which is easy when you have your own bar and gas-fired barbecue in the garden. Get the family together for a laid-back, hearty meal served alfresco on the patio, then fix yourself a post-dinner tipple. Why not take your drinks up to the spacious terrace to watch the sunset? The views have to be seen to be believed, and the comfy sun loungers are the icing on the cake. 


Soulful Sunsets

Found within the exclusive Royal Westmoreland Golf Resort, this Caribbean villa is intimate and indulgent. You’ll be torn between reclining in the elegant interiors or soaking up the sun beside the shimmering plunge pool. And when it’s impossible to choose, the covered terrace makes for a perfect compromise. We could spend all day on those squashy rattan loungers, rum cocktail in hand, watching the ocean roll towards the sprawling lush lawns. Should you want to get closer to the water, the Beach Club at Mullins Bay is only five minutes away by car. Here, you can snorkel among tropical fish in the impossibly clear shallows or lie back on those chalk-soft sands and drift off on the Bajan breeze. What’s more, you’ve got access to the world-class golf course, tennis courts and fitness centre—you’ll never have a dull day in paradise.

Coconut & Pineapple

In an elevated position overlooking the rolling green expanse of Royal Westmoreland golf course and the Caribbean Sea beyond, this villa boasts an unbeatable location and sprawling views. The villa is accessed by a long private driveway, and surrounded by manicured gardens and palm trees. Indoor and outdoor space blend seamlessly together – the plush living room leads out onto a spacious covered verandah, where you can relax with a book on the sofas or enjoy lunch alfresco at the dining table. A crystalline infinity pool curves around the verandah, and is long enough to swim lengths in before kicking back on a sun lounger. Steps lead down to a little plunge pool, where you can enjoy a quiet moment. 

In the basement there’s a ping pong table and ice hockey to keep you entertained, as well as exercise equipment. With its curved walls and vaulted ceiling, the main bedroom is grand in its proportions. Folding glass doors span the length of the room, leading out onto a private patio where you can enjoy your morning coffee and soak up the spectacular view. All of the bedrooms have their own en-suite bathrooms, including the bedroom in the guest cottage next to the house.

The villa is just north of the Platinum Coast, within easy access of breathtaking beaches and high end restaurants. While staying at the villa, you’ll have exclusive access to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion beach facility, where up to 10 guests can enjoy the sun loungers, beach bars and restaurants.

Crescent House

If you’re keen to explore, historic Speightstown is a short walk away, while Holetown is reached in fifteen minutes by car. After a spot of souvenir shopping and a bite to eat in a casual restaurant, head home for a rum cocktail as the sun sets into the water.
