With a private patio terrace and views over the River Tay – there's also the option to soak up the surrounding nature without moving a muscle. This spot sits on the grounds of the owner's home, however, it is a self-contained annexe detached from the main house, so it still feels private. You'll also have access to the large garden, and with high-quality finishing touches inside (including White Company bedding), the space offers a luxurious stay. Plus, you'll be conveniently close to the shops and restaurants of Aberfeldy, just a short walk away. 




The Sheltered Annexe

A three-story marvel that captivates from the word go, it graciously hosts a duo of bedrooms; a cosy double and alluring twin. Uncover warmth in our inviting living room, perfect for shared laughter and cherished memories. Tucked amidst quaint village life, chatter over coffee with locals at The Giddy Gannet, your delightful neighbour. Immerse in sweeping views from every corner of this tiered wonderment. Our idyllic spot assures comfort for families and companions alike while sharing its generous spirit and nurturing a wholesome connection with this charming Neuk of Fife. Be part of this snug embrace as our treasured guest and delight in access to an unspoilt sanctuary effortlessly blending tradition with contemporary comfort. Please note that smoking inside is not welcomed.

Gannet's Nest

On the outside, this 18th-century barn conversion is rustic as can be. But step through the door and you'll be transported into a serene Scandinavian-inspired space – appropriate, given guests enjoy a private session in the shared Finnish sauna. The wood-burning stove, replete with a supply of logs, is the perfect tonic after a brisk stroll through the glens of the Pentland Hills Regional Park, and the kitchen provides everything you need for dinner. You'll need a car here, as it's a mile from the nearest road and a short drive from Penicuik – but the parking spot makes this a breeze. Just note there are a few other cottages on-site, so you may bump into other guests from time to time.

Highland Hymn

Set within the majestic wilderness of the Glen Dye private estate, this beautiful home welcomes you to retreat into the heart of nature. 

Designed by Young Architects of the Year NORD in 2012, this semi-detached house honours its Victorian heritage whilst delivering a modern and stylish aesthetic. It feels luxurious here, but in a way that is natural and effortless. And just like the surrounding landscape, this is the kind of space that inspires a sense of calm and beauty. 

It’s the small details that matter here. Like waking up and savouring your morning coffee as you read by the fire, or preparing a lunch of hand–picked veggies from the garden. Wind your way along the woodland path and you’ll find your own private wood–fired tub – the perfect spot to soak in the natural elements. 

Days can be spent hiking, cycling, running, wild swimming or simply sitting and enjoying the powerful presence of the landscape. The estate is also home to a resident BYOB pub, wood-fired sauna and shop where you can find any cupboard staples you might need. 

After a day full of fresh air, light up the barbecue and enjoy the poetic beauty of this wilderness location.  

Gather & Bloom

This charming home can be found just off the start of the North Coast 500 route. It’s just a five-minute drive from the centre of Wick and within thirty minutes of the Castle of Mey, John O’Groats, and Duncansby Stacks – you won’t be short of things to see and do during your stay. In addition to a perfect location and excellent rural views, this historic cottage offers every comfort you could ask for – many of the soft furnishings have been lovingly handmade by the homeowner. 

Northern Charm Cottage

If you have a special occasion to celebrate or are planning a big get-together, this is the place to do it. Sleeping up to twenty-four guests in absolute luxury, this 17th-century baronial castle with its pepper-pot roofs, Victorian walled garden and quintessential Highland setting is the stuff of fairy tales. Children will love it here – the 18-acre grounds are like a magical wild playground – though with a Whisky Library brimming with fine single malts, Scottish gins (and whisky tutors on call), adults will love it perhaps even more. The dining room is an impressive place for a feast, and the home is staffed with a chef to introduce you to high-end Highland cuisine. Afterwards, play billiards in the games room, find a cosy nook for reading or practice your Highland fling in front of a roaring fire. Outside, the options continue – light a crackling bonfire in private woodland or practice fly fishing at the estate's lochan, which feeds off the River Don. The house is in good company with Balmoral just 8 miles away, and Aberdeenshire's golf courses are some of the best in Scotland. It's also located within the Cairngorms National Park, so, depending on the season, you could find yourself hiking, kayaking or skiing within five minutes of leaving home. 


Baronial Bliss

New York loft-style meets traditional fishing cottage at this bijou home in Pittenweem. Stepping inside, you can see this place was designed by an award-winning architect. Flagstone floors and the old stone partition wall have been retained as though from the 18th-century, but the kitchen is all sleek units and high-spec appliances. A wood-burner still crackles at the heart of the home, keeping things cosy in the colder months. Upstairs, a plump king-size bed awaits and the traditional old window looks out onto the narrow wynd below. As for location, you’re mere footsteps from Pittenweem’s High Street (about 30, we’ve counted), where you’ll find cafés, craft shops, galleries and a fabulous fish and chip shop. It’s a two-minute walk to the East Neuk's only working harbourfront where you can watch the fishing boats land their catch of lobsters and langoustines, and St Andrews is a twenty-minute drive away. 

Fisherman's Shanty

A bright white etch against the gorse lowlands of Scotland, this 15th century castle started life as a wedding present for Princess Mary (daughter of James II of Scotland), before becoming a court and then a prison. Its latest incarnation? As one of the quirkiest holiday homes we've come across. Reimagined as a Medieval castle, this spot is like stepping back 600 years; thick stone walls are strung with tapestries, there's a throne to bark orders at your underlings as they cook on the AGA in the nearby kitchen, and tiny arrow holes give glimpses of the Isle of Arran. We love the cellar bedroom, with its curved brick ceiling, drawbridge-style bed, and - of course - a Beefeater costume to keep an eye on any troublemakers. Don't worry about chopping firewood or hunting for your next meal, under floor heating, I-pod docks, and a rather large whisky collection ensure a comfortable stay.

Atop The Ayrshire Cliffs

Looking for a Scottish coastal retreat just seconds from the beach? Then this immaculately presented apartment in the scenic coastal town of North Berwick, East Lothian could be the perfect spot. Defying yawnsome coastal pastiche (there’s not a wooden boat or anchor in sight) in favour of cool, fresh monochromes and sparkling white bathrooms, this is relaxed, beachside living at its best. Being situated on the ground floor, there's a charming, covered terrace area for two just off the master bedroom, leading onto a sunny shared garden. The living room with a crackling log fire (and underfloor heating to keep things extra toasty in winter months) is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of taking in the sights and sounds of the area. And you’re well-placed to do so here. The sweeping sandy beach is just at the end of the street, literally thirty seconds away. The vibrant high street with cosy pubs and restaurants is just a five-minute walk away. And there are coastal walks aplenty and a golf course commanding breath-taking sea views within easy reach. Locations don’t come much better than this.

Everything is A-OK

If escaping to nature is your idea of the perfect break, then look no further. Located in east-central Scotland, Fife is only a forty-minute drive from Edinburgh and an hour to Glasgow, but far enough away to feel secluded. Drive out if you’re looking to explore the cities, but we can’t promise you that you’d want to leave this home once you’ve settled in. Surrounded by trees and green slopes, this place is bright and modern, but still oozing with the potential for optimal comfort. Light the wood-burning stove, claim your spot on the plush sofa and let it envelop you as you let go of all the tension you’ve been holding onto. The egg chair is the perfect spot for bookworms, but you’d better be quick on calling dibs because we can guarantee everyone would be eager to have a go. Even though this home is the epitome of relaxation inside, you’re going to want to brave the nippy Scottish air to go outside – it’ll be worth it, trust us. Head out with a bottle of prosecco and slip into the hot tub – just when you think you couldn’t be more relaxed. 

If you have to leave, stay connected to nature by visiting the Lochore Meadows, or stroll through the Townhill Wood where you’ll encounter century-old trees. Cleish Castle is an eleven-minute drive away, with Locleven Castle being just a couple of minutes more. Head to the local golf course, eight-minutes from here, to play a round or two, or take to the loch for waterboarding. In between, pop in at Genaro’s Fish Bar or The Village Inn for a bite to eat.

Rest for the Soul

This enchanting, stone-built manor is the perfect venue for large family holidays, corporate getaways or celebration weekends, accommodating up to thirty-three guests in fifteen en-suite bedrooms. The property boasts a vast function room with a bar that leads onto an elegant patio with outdoor seating and a pretty bandstand suitable for an outdoor wedding. In addition to the commercial-sized kitchen, there are two dining rooms, a grand period lounge, and a separate traditional Scottish bar. The function room can be adapted to suit your own tastes and transformed into a fun and exciting games room. There is also DJ equipment and banquet furniture ready for unforgettable events. The property is located in Perthshire, known for its breathtaking natural scenery, rich history, cultural heritage, and outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, fishing, golfing and skiing. The region is renowned for its cultural heritage, with a thriving arts and crafts scene as well as a vibrant music and literature scene.

All Right Now

Set off into the wilds from this snug seaside base. Situated in the picturesque harbour town of Oban, the one-bed apartment is an ideal setting-off point for couples or solo travellers to explore Scotland's rugged Highlands.

Contemporary and comfortable, this home also boasts direct views of the bay. Cosy up in the open-plan living space after a long day and watch as the community winds down outside your window. We love the exposed stone wall that brings a touch of the wilderness indoors. The sleek kitchen is well-outfitted for you to prepare a hearty breakfast each morning.

Adventurers will no doubt be happy here – not only are there beaches and golf courses on your doorstep, but some of Scottland's best hiking trails are just a short drive away. We recommend taking the short and scenic ferry ride to the Island of Kerrera, where a crumbling castle looks out over the Atlantic. Enjoy freshly baked goods in the cottage tearoom before returning to your home base.
