This pad lies in Thessaloniki’s emerging industrial port district. This neighbourhood is bustling with bars, music venues and clubs, so keep that in mind when it comes to noise levels – earplugs might be worth packing. Getting around is easy – with multiple bus routes off your doorstep, though there’s free street parking nearby, too. The apartment is bright, modern, and all set up for a memorable coastal retreat. There’s plenty of space to unwind after a day exploring the city’s historical sights and a balcony for sharing sundowners.

Bright Sunsets

This stylish apartment is the perfect base for a couple wanting to see the sights of Thessaloniki. It’s in the up-and-coming port district of the city, but you can easily visit the city centre by hopping on a bus – the route runs right in front of the apartment. When you’re not seeing the White Tower, strolling along the promenade, or admiring the archaeological sites, you’ll be glad to have such a comfortable home-from-home. The decor is sleek and attractive, and the apartment has everything you might need for a city break. 

The Thessaloniki Hideaway

This is a charming beach house located in a small fisherman village in Milos island. The house is decorated with a boho and cozy design styling combined with Cycladic culture. It has direct access to a sea view veranda, with a big dinning table. The house is equipped with all facilities, in order to provide you with a pleasant and unforgettable stay.

Moon Rocks

With a prime hilltop position close to the Cretan coastline, this villa is treated to some truly stunning views. In one direction, the Aegean Sea glistens underneath the sunlight, while the island's mountainous interior rises high behind the home.

As you would hope, there are plenty of spots where you can marvel at this gorgeous landscape. The balconies off two of the bedrooms, plus the terrace, offer great vantage points with some seating, but you can also appreciate the locale while gliding gracefully through the swimming pool. The double-height windows in the living room mean that heading indoors doesn't mean shutting yourself off from the outside world, either.

Built only in 2009, there's a luxurious feel to the interior, with chic furnishings, a large minimalist kitchen and spa-worthy bathrooms. There's an exercise bike and running machine in case you want to keep up with your workouts, as well as an outdoor tennis court shared with neighbouring villas.

Although there's plenty to keep you content at the address, Paralia Macherida is only seven minutes' walk away when you fancy a spot of sunbathing and sea-swimming. The village of Stavros in which iconic scenes from the 1964 film Zorba the Greek were filmed takes ten minutes to reach in the car, while the historic city of Chania takes half an hour.

Hasapiko Steps

Set on a remote Cretan hillside, away from the high rise hotels and built up beaches, this villa is a sanctuary for relaxation and joy. You will be floored by the breathtaking views of the coast, which you can enjoy while taking a dip in the expansive infinity pool. There are plenty of deck chairs and outdoor spots where you can relax and soak up your surroundings, and come evening there’s nothing better than a sunset barbecue for dinner beneath the pergola (perhaps followed by a little ouzo). 

Your host is on hand 24/7 to assist with anything you might need: there is the option to have a private chef, as well as boat and yacht tours, massages and transportation, so you need not lift a finger during your stay.

The villa is down the road from Kokkino Chorio, a traditional Cretan village with a smattering of beautiful churches, a handy supermarket, and local tavernas serving traditional Greek fare. You are less than a kilometre from stunning coastline, where there are many pristine beaches and cave systems to explore by boat, including the famous Elephant Cave, a diving spot for the intrepid amongst the group. This is the kind of villa you will want to return to for years. 

Ariadne's Nectar

Great for music-loving couples and solo adventurers, this simple home boasts a flowy layout and a balcony for alfresco dining. History buffs have lots to see and do in Thessaloniki, and this apartment lets you stroll to local concert venues. That said, the surrounding nightlife scene might be an issue for light sleepers who may wake up with the sunshine in the bedroom. You'll have the bonus of street parking and a bus route right outside your front door, taking you to the city centre in just minutes.

Sunrise Sanctuary

Arriving at this hilltop sanctuary, you’ll find it hard to take your eyes off the views. Overlooking the northwest coast of Crete, this is the perfect opportunity to switch off and savour the magic of coastal living. From leisurely swims in the private pool to restorative sessions in the home spa, every detail has been considered to inspire optimum relaxation. There is also a gym, a pool bar, a children’s playground and a concierge service offering extras like a private chef and massage treatments. At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed, but this is a great option for families travelling with children. It’s also worth noting you will need a car to get around here, but it’s just a ten-minute drive into the heart of Chania, while the nearest beach is less than twenty minutes away. 

Out of this World

This villa in Paros is beautiful. It’s been the holiday home of the same family for years, so when the children – now working as an architect and a furniture designer in Paris – had the chance to restore it, they jumped at the opportunity. The love that went into the renovation is evident in the carefully considered touches, and in the outstanding finishes. There’s a real focus on honouring local materials and styles, but with a contemporary vibe – the home is breath-taking. 

If you’re anything like us, you’ll start and end your days on the rooftop terrace, taking in the glorious view of Naousa Bay. The home is surrounded by Mediterranean gardens, making the outside space a haven of relaxation. The salt water pool is oh-so-tempting when the temperature is climbing, and in the evenings it’s an utter delight to grill up fresh fish on the barbecue and dine alfresco. You could also hire a private chef to cook for you and your guests – a celebratory feast of meze is always a hit. 

The lovely Piperi beach is an eleven-minute walk away, and closer still is Anargyroi beach just nine minutes away, where luxury hotel Cosme has just opened with wellness spa facilities. After soaking up the sun and swimming in the sea, you might like to head into the old town of Naousa for pre-dinner cocktails by the water, just five minutes from the home on foot.

Back at the villa, revel in the privacy of the patios off each of the bedrooms. Enjoy a glass of wine as you spot constellations before slipping into bed for a luxurious night’s sleep.
