For a taste of Netherlandish culture Zutphen, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands is only 20km away. You’ll instantly be charmed by its wood-panelled exterior, as well as its floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors that lead out onto a patio area – perfect for beginning mornings with an alfresco breakfast or ending evenings with a celebratory sundowner. Inside, the open-plan living space invites you to relax and unwind amidst the home’s serene setting, while the comfortable bedrooms are ready to ease you into a seamless night’s sleep at the end of each night. 

When it comes to things to see and do, while away sunny afternoons in the communal outdoor pool or give yourself a night off from cooking with a meal at the on-site restaurant. Elsewhere, the Speelpark Klein Zwitserland amusement park is a short drive away, while the city of Venlo is 12 kilometres away and easily reachable by car as well.


Chalet Wishes

The interior is a modern space with clean lines and plenty of natural light flooding in through the large windows. The whole family will love settling down around the dining table for a delicious homemade meal cooked in the smart kitchen. Or, if you'd prefer someone else does the cooking, there's an on-site restaurant where you can indulge. And, on warm days, the kids can make a splash in the shared swimming pool while you while away the hours relaxing on the terrace with a good book. 

Your host can help you to book canoes, power boats, and electric scooters, so you can zip around the countryside and waterways. Or, do as the Dutch do and hop on your bike to visit Lake IJssel, where you can try some watersports or visit one of the little beaches. And, you can also drive into the city of Hoorn in around fifteen minutes, to visit its pretty harbour and browse the boutiques. 

Fun O'Clock 

A lakeside break is on offer at the wood-clad farmhouse just outside the town of Bruinisse. It sits right on the riverside where you can spot ducks and the odd great crested grebe. On Grevelingen lake, a short walk away, you can even see a colony of flamingos in the winter months. The patio, furnished with an outdoor dining table, faces the river and a huge stretch of lawn provides a pitch for ball games in the sun. Although it looks traditional on the outside, inside this home is a haven of modernity. The open-plan living area is a social space with light wood floors and stone-grey sofas to unwind on at the end of the day. Bedrooms are sunny spaces and the ground floor room has direct access to a patio via glass doors.

You’re within an exclusive holiday resort here. Exploring the grounds, you’ll find an indoor swimming pool for all seasons with flumes and slides for the kids. Walking trails lead past the river and there’s a kids club with entertainment to keep little ones occupied. A short drive away, the lakeside town of Bruinisse offers boat trips from the pier and has a healthy crop of restaurants and cafés. 

Wanderer's Rest

There is but one sand dune between you and the sea here. In fact, you can sink your toes into the soft sand straight from the private terrace and be paddling in the ocean in two minutes. This home sits on the outskirts of Ouddorp, on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. A seven-minute drive (or half-hour walk) sees you in the town’s centre for grocery shops, cafés and restaurants. Or, stick around in the holiday resort and explore the old dune landscape, pause for fresh seafood in the beach restaurant, and rent bikes and boards from the surf shop. There are playgrounds for little ones too and a natural swimming pool in the summer months.  

The home itself is surrounded by wooden decking, which leads straight onto the dunes. There’s enough room for the group to dine out here, beneath the sail-like shade. The open living area is breezy and beachy with sand-dune prints on the wall and a seafoam-blue wall. Huge walls of glass and sliding doors flood the place with sunlight during the day, especially in the sleek, modern kitchen. There’s dining for the whole group and a breakfast bar for a casual morning coffee. 

Sand Dunes & Salty Air

Perched on the water's edge of Lake Verre, this unique spot in beautiful Zeeland homes, sixteen villas, each with its own jetty where guests can bring their own boats. If you don't have a boat, from here, you'll be able to rent one on-site or simply relax and enjoy other water sports with direct water access to the lake. 

The impressive facade of this villa sets the tone from the moment you arrive, as its equally attractive interior invites guests to unwind with captivating waterside views wherever you look. So naturally, we couldn't think of anything better than serving up local culinary delights paired with quality wine amidst such a serene setting. 

There's a real sense of stillness here. Listen to the soothing water sounds as the boats set off across the lake from the jetty, or why not head out to explore the picturesque locale? Both Veere's and Middelburg's own centres are a twenty-minute drive away. Meanwhile, twelve islands in the wetland are waiting to be explored, alongside several beaches and water sports opportunities – all within short driving distance.

This bright and lovely home nestled nearby the historic city of Vlissingen, and within easy access to a beautiful sandy beach is an ideal location for a family holiday or a tranquil getaway for a group of friends. 

Situated within a peaceful holiday resort, you’ll have access to various shared facilities, while at the same time being able to relish your privacy. The inside will welcome you with a cosy and charming living area, where you can kick back and relax. There’s an elegant dining area where you can share the delicious meals you’ll be able to rustle up with ease in the well-equipped kitchen. Outside the resort, you’ll find yourself on a boulevard which leads all the way to the harbour – a particularly lovely walk at sunset. There are also great dining options along this stretch. For day trips, why not drive to the nearby city of Goes in Zeeland, a thirty-minute drive, or explore the many fascinating sights of Vlissingen.

A twenty-minute walk from Noordwijk's blissful strand, this modern home offers a tranquil coastal getaway. The thatch-roofed pad is fully geared up for modern living, complete with a comfortable sitting room, well-outfitted kitchen and bright outdoor space. We particularly love the colour scheme here – the medley of turquoise and grey creates an atmosphere that's both cheerful and serene.

When the sun comes out, sit down to relaxed meals on the terrace with views of the manicured lawns. There's also a small lake in the well-tended holiday park, plus miles of colourful poppy fields nearby. If you'd rather explore this scenic part of the country by bike, you can reach a rental place in just twenty-five minutes on foot. We can't imagine a better way to explore the Netherland's sparkling coastline.

Thatch Made in Heaven

Treat your favourite people to a getaway to the peaceful region of North Holland. Nestled right by Uitgeest Lake, it's perfect both for guests who want to relax and those who are keen to explore. 

The smart brick home has a welcoming aura, and you'll love getting comfy on the sofa with a glass of wine to get in the holiday mood. When you feel hungry, you can whip up your favourite dishes in the smart kitchen using fresh ingredients. And, best of all, the home has its very own terrace right on the marina, so you can sip a sundowner as you gaze at the light on the water. 

Uitgeest Lake is just a few steps away, so whether you're a novice just learning to sail or an expert with your own boat, you can spend plenty of time on the water. It's also a haven for surfers, where you can practice your board skills before enjoying a waterside picnic. And, if you're bringing a bike, you can do as the Dutch do and hop on to explore the peaceful countryside and canals. 

Marina Marvel

For a family holiday without any stress, this is a great choice. This lovely chalet is located on the Maas, on a side branch of the river. It’s a peaceful spot within a new holiday park, so you can easily relax and unwind, but there’s also plenty to keep everyone occupied. 

The chalet is attractive and welcoming, with high ceilings and heaps of light pouring through the tall windows. It’s cosy but stylish, the perfect home from home. The open-plan dining and living space is the heart of the home. You can begin each day around the table, tucking into a hearty breakfast to set you up for a day of hiking, cycling, and fun on the water. When you want to relax, you can curl up together on the comfy sofas. 

When the weather is fine, you’ll likely spend much of your time on the terrace. Open up the patio doors from the living room, and step outside to a little haven on the water. Soak up the sunshine, or dine alfresco for a real holiday feel. 

The chalet is a short drive from Kerkdriel, and from the city of Den Bosch, so you can easily explore further afield. 


Just Around The River Bend

Located in Zandvoort, renowned for its sandy beaches and F1 circuit, this two-storey family home will certainly have you racing around with all of the facilities on offer here. Set in a resort, you'll have access to an impressive array of activities fit for children and adults alike – from the indoor pool and petting farm to the hiking and cycling paths, shops and restaurants. 

Plus, you're just a ten-minute wander from the beach, where you can take up surfing, sailing or simply just lie back and relax. Whether you're off exploring or hanging out at home, it's a perfectly practical pad to reconnect with extended family and friends with plenty to keep you actively engaged. 

Back inside, you'll find an appealing apartment with polished wood floors, white-painted brick walls and an open-hearth fireplace to keep you warm on chillier evenings. We particularly love the turquoise colour palette, especially in the three double bedrooms, creating a calm and comfortable space to rest. 

But, the star of the show is the large outdoor terrace complete with seating and a slatted fence for added privacy. Sprawl out on the lawn and play group games basking in the sunshine, or perhaps you'll want to discover Zandvoort's charming town centre, no more than twenty minutes on foot from your front door.
