This charming home boasts a picturesque setting on 18 acres in the heart of the Catskills, just outside of Forestburgh. It’s on peaceful Gillman Pond, so you can enjoy water views from the gardens. Outside, there’s also a stone patio and a barbecue. Inside, the home is modern and cosy, with a wood-burning stove, wooden panels, and pretty forest views. This home is equipped with everything you might need for a relaxing break, whether you’re travelling with friends or family. 

Reflections on a Pond

You'll find this blue-hued cabin in Narrowsburg, a small hamlet in the heart of the Catskills. From stargazing in the garden and kayaking on the Delaware to vintage shopping in town, this area offers something for everyone. It's also just two hours by car from New York City, making it ideal for day trips. All the essentials for a comfortable stay are included – be it board games, children's toys or Public Goods toiletries. There's plenty of space inside and out for family gatherings and a separate den perfect for little ones. Though our favourite spots are the outdoor fire pit and indoor fireplace, both incredibly cosy come winter.

Mountain Blueberries

Mere steps from the beach, this four-bedroom farmhouse sleeps ten and is ideal for a large family getaway. Rustic it may be, but the interiors don’t skimp on style – white walls and pops of colour lend it a modern Scandinavian vibe. An open-plan kitchen with a Carrara marble island and KitchenAid mixer make meal prep a cinch – get everyone together to bake a cake. A travel crib, highchair and changing pad are provided for the littlest family members. 

The Captain's House

Just a two-hour drive from New York City, this home in the Poconos is more like a private resort, with an impressive list of amenities and all kinds of entertainment options for a large group. Set less than ten minutes away from scenic Lake Harmony by car, and close to various ski resorts like Jack Frost and Big Boulder Mountain, there are shops and restaurants within a few minutes drive, along with nearby golf courses and a water park.

But that's assuming you'll even want to leave this magnificent home. With four bedrooms, a vast games room, indoor and outdoor pools, a cinema room and a bar, you'll have everything you could need right here. Spend your days lounging by the pool, relaxing in the sauna or indoor hot tub, or playing volleyball in the grounds, while evenings mean film screenings, group barbecues and games of air hockey and pool. And before bed, there's just time for nightcaps around the fire pit.

 

 

The Masterplan

Set on a sprawling 326-acre estate, this incredible home is a stunning year-round retreat that boasts breathtaking mountain views, multiple ponds, scenic hiking trails and a plethora of possible activities. Upon arrival, your host will show you around the luxury barn, allowing you to decide which facilities to add to your stay – this includes a gym, Japanese bathroom, gym and even a recording studio. Nearby, you'll be able to try out a range of winter activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing, while back home you can warm up around the fire fit or in the sauna.


The Olde Rancher

This delightful cottage, nestled in the picturesque mountains of New York State’s famous Shawangunk Ridge, is an ideal spot for a cosy country escape. As the last property before the entrance to a protected nature reserve, this home offers unmatched tranquillity and proximity to nature.

The homely interior draws inspiration from the ancient woodlands and gorgeous landscape outside. Wooden floorboards pair with bright houseplants to create an organic and breathable ambience throughout, and there is a charming fireplace set within a stone wall for added cosiness.  The exquisite evergreen kitchen has stylish bar stools that invite you to enjoy quiet, home-cooked dinners, while the plush, deluxe king-sized bed in the bedroom carries the promise of a restful night’s sleep.

The cottage's location offers the best of both worlds – you’ll be able to breathe in the fresh outdoor air on nearby Minnewaska State Park Preserve and wander through its magical trails, safe in the knowledge that all the comforts of modern living are within a fifteen-minute drive away. This is also the best place for rock-climbing and mountain biking – if you like to live dangerously! 


Under The Ridge

Sitting right on the waterfront of Shinnecock Bay and providing you with your own private dock – large enough for a 36ft boat – this home is a skipper's dream. You can admire the views of the lake from the lounge and dining area through the floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as from every bedroom, so you can soak up every second of this dreamy location.

Step onto the private patio and find the outdoor pool, ideal for cooling off in the heat, as well as a hot tub for warming up on summer evenings – or simply take a good book out to one of the lounge chairs and enjoy relaxing in peace.



The Dock of the Bay

Set in over seven acres of private land in the heart of the Catskills, this home is a true escape from it all. Ideal for families who love the great outdoors – four-legged friends included – the freshwater pond is perfect for swimming, while the firepit invites you to stargaze at night. With nature surrounding you, the grill and outdoor cooler encourage alfresco dining, but for days when you don’t fancy cooking, we recommend heading to Kerhonkson or Accord for some authentic local cuisine. Keen on more outdoor pursuits? Minnewaska State Park is a mere twenty-minute drive away. 

Nature's Rest

Keen to escape the hustle and bustle? This modern cabin is flanked by five acres of private woodland. Between the decked terrace, outdoor firepit, and forest surroundings, there'll be plenty of opportunities to bask in the fresh air. Head inside, however, and you'll find a contemporary living that gives a whole new meaning to 'cabin chic'. There's a wood stove for wintery evenings, a modern kitchen with all the essentials, and even a record player to set the mood with some tunes. You're in the heart of the Catskills here with hiking trails on your doorstep, while towns like Livingston Manor and Callicoon are less than twenty minutes away.

Ebony Woods

This NYT-featured Catskills home is not quite the cabin it seems to be. What looks like a single storey home from one angle is actually built over a creekside slope, and we think it's one of the most interesting places we've seen for a peaceful stay in the woods. Floor-to-ceiling windows make full use of the region’s scenery, and sliding doors out onto a deck mean you can practically reach out and touch the pines – you can even listen to the rushing waters of the creek from here. Modern and stylish, the design here isn't trying to outshine the views, with wood floors, white walls and a Scandi feel to its furnishings. Two of the bedrooms are on the top floor and have such great views across the canopy you'll think you're staying in a treehouse, while immaculate bathrooms are outfitted with marble, lava stone and Italian Porcelanosa tiles. If you can drag yourself away, head out on hikes, explore the nearby farm shops, or book a meal at a local restaurant – there are several within a short drive. But we recommend making your way to the home's little campfire site, with some hot chocolate and marshmallows, for an evening you'll never forget.

The Edge

With sweeping views of the Delaware River and beyond, it’s impossible not to relax at this clifftop home. Comfortable for six people, you’ll find everything you need for a restful retreat and the vaulted ceilings simply adds to the sense of space. Alfresco dining is a must to make the most of those vistas, with after-dinner drinks around the fire pit the perfect end to an evening. If you can tear yourself away from this home, it’s a mere ten minutes to Narrowsburg’s main street where a plethora of eateries and shops await. 

Hidden Sanctuary

Nestled on three private acres, this home offers a tranquil escape from everyday life. Surrounded by woodland and meadows, complete with walking trails and a stream-fed pond, there’s so much to explore here – just watch the little ones and your four-legged friends around the pond, as it’s not fenced. Perfectly situated for exploring the best towns and parks in the region, Lake Taghkanic State Park is just ten minutes away by car, while Tivoli, Rhinebeck, and Hudson are easily accessible, offering a plethora of eateries, shops, and cultural experiences.
